THIRUVONAM 2K19

Srinivas University College of Hotel Management & Tourism and Srinivas College of Hotel Management celebrated THIRUVONAM 2K19 on Setember 6, 2019. Observed by Malayalis all over the world as a religious and cultural festival, Onam commemorates the annual homecoming of the legendary King Mahabali — the grandson of Prahlada — as per Hindu scriptures. The function was inaugurated by the chief guest  Dr. P.S.Aithal, Vice-Chancellor, Srinivas University. Dr. Annayya , Chief Medical Officer - Srinivas Group and Prof. S.Swaminathan  - Dean in charge of College of Hotel Management & Tourism were also present. The winners of POOKKALAM 2K19 were awarded with the prizes during the function.The main attraction of the function was the Shingarimelam, performed by a professional group. It was followed by Thiruvathirakali - a traditional dance form of Kerala, performed by the girl students of College of Hotel Management & Tourism. A fourteen course tradtional Onam Sadya(Kerala style lunch) was prepared and served by the students. The event was filled with various cultural programs and games.

Srinivas University College of Hotel Management & Tourism, conducted a workshop for the Pre-University level students on 16 November, 2019. Students from Parijnana PU College - Ullal, attended the workshop. Basic baking skills were demonstrated with the preparation of Banana bread and Peanut Butter Cookies by the participants. The workshop was organised by Mr.Chaitanya, Asst. Professor, Srinivas University College of Hotel Management & Tourism. COOKING WITHOUT FIRE COMPETITION - SAGA 2K19

Srinivas University College of Hotel Management and Tourism organised a 'Cooking Without Fire Competition' for Pre-University level students on November 7, 2019 as part of SAGA-2K19. Twenty teams from different PU Colleges in and around Mangalore participated in the competition. Prof. Sujatha Shankar and Prof. Prashanth Prabhu were the chief organizers for the event.
