HOUSEKEEPING WORKSHOP

Srinivas University College of Hotel Management and Tourism conducted a one day workshop in Housekeeping Skills on 31 August, 2019. The workshop was conducted by Prof. Subrat Saraf,
Co-ordinator, Rooms Division Research Centre, College of Hotel Management and Tourism. The workshop was intended to familiarize the students with the intricacies of making a bed in a professional way in a hotel room and other services of Housekeeping department in a Hotel. The students also got refreshed with various cleaning agents, guest room amenities, and various linen handling tips.

Mr. Cariyappa (Student-V Sem BHMCT) welcomed the guests and participants. Mr. Sreejith O.V (Course Co-ordinator, BHMCT/B.SC - HM) was the Chief inaugurator of the workshop. Mr. Sreejith in his inaugural speech emphasized on the importance of on the importance of continuous learning and narrated the role of workshop in enhancing the learning skills among students. Students from the final year batch also gave insights on Housekeeping to the students based on their exposure they received during the internship in the previous semester. Hemal Suvarna (Student- VII Sem BHM) presented the vote of thanks.

BAKING BUDDIES I - Bakery Workshop

Srinivas University College of Hotel Management & Tourism, conducted a workshop for the Pre-University level students on 14 November, 2019. Students from Sharada PU College, Mangalore attended the workshop. Basic baking skills were demonstrated with the preparation of Banana bread and Peanut Butter Cookies by the participants. The workshop was organised by Mr.Chaitanya, Asst. Professor, Srinivas University College of Hotel Management & Tourism. Prof. Swaminathan, Dean - Srinivas University College of Hotel Management & Tourism, handed over the participation certificate to the students.

NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON "DEVELOPING INDIAN TOURISM: INNOVATIVE IDEAS AND PRACTICES"

College of Hotel Management and Tourism in Srinivas University Mangalore conducted one day National Conference on "DEVELOPING INDIAN TOURISM: INNOVATIVE IDEAS AND PRACTICES" on 20July, 2019. Dr. T.Mallikarjunappa (Professor - Department of Business Administration, Dean -Faculty of Commerce, Mangalore University) was the Chief Guest. Sri CA.A.Raghavendra Rao, (Chancellor - Srinivas University & President - A.Shama Rao Foundation) presided over the function. Dr. P. S. Aithal (Vice-chancellor Srinivas University), Dr. Ajay (Registrar -Development, Srinivas University), Prof. S.Swaminathan(Dean- College of Hotel Management and Tourism) were present during the function. The key note speaker was Prof. Pradeep M.D (College of Social Sciences and Humanities, Srinivas University). GUEST LECTURE

Srinivas University College of Hotel Management and Tourism organised a Guest Lecture for the Fifth Semester BHMCT & B.Sc- HM students on " COMPETITIVE & BUSINESS ASPECT IN EVENT MANAGEMENT " on 14th September 2019. Mr. Mohammed Sajid and Mr.Sahil Zaheer, Business Associates - Platform Productions, Mangalore were the resource persons for the Guest Lecture. The Guest Lecture was intended to make the students more aware of the intricacies in event management and make them understand varied competition they would face in case they take up event management as their career after education. The resource persons, Mr.Sajid and Mr. Zaheer experiancially elaborated on the scope of event business and gave some professional tips to be successful in the field.
