Srinivas University College of Hotel Management and Tourism organised a 'Cooking Without Fire Competition' for Pre-University level students on November 7, 2019 as part of SAGA-2K19. Twenty teams from different PU Colleges in and around Mangalore participated in the competition. Prof. Sujatha Shankar and Prof. Prashanth Prabhu were the chief organizers for the event. Srinivas University College of Hotel Management and Tourism organised an Awareness Programme in Fire Safety for the students of   Third and First semester BHMCT & BScHM on September 30, 2019. The programme was conducted by Mr Rajesh, Fire Station officer, Pandeshwar, Mangalore along with his team of firemen in the University Campus. Mr. Athul Dange, student of BHMCT III Semester, welcomed the gathering. Mr Rajesh delivered a lecture to the students on fire, its components, classes and the related sciences. He also enlightened the students on the use of fire fighting equipment and dealing in cases of fire emergency.  A practical demonstration of the use of various fire fighting equipment and fire handling was also conducted and students were also made to participate.                                          

Srinivas University College of Hotel Management and Tourism organised a Guest Lecture for the Fifth Semester BHMCT & B.Sc- HM students on " COMPETITIVE & BUSINESS ASPECT IN EVENT MANAGEMENT " on 14th September 2019. Mr. Mohammed Sajid and Mr.Sahil Zaheer, Business Associates - Platform Productions, Mangalore were the resource persons for the Guest Lecture. The Guest Lecture was intended to make the students more aware of the intricacies in event management and make them understand varied competition they would face in case they take up event management as their career after education. The resource persons, Mr.Sajid and Mr. Zaheer experiancially elaborated on the scope of event business and gave some professional tips to be successful in the field. Srinivas University College of Hotel Management & Tourism and Srinivas College of Hotel Management celebrated THIRUVONAM 2K19 on Setember 6, 2019. Observed by Malayalis all over the world as a religious and cultural festival, Onam commemorates the annual homecoming of the legendary King Mahabali — the grandson of Prahlada — as per Hindu scriptures. The function was inaugurated by the chief guest  Dr. P.S.Aithal, Vice-Chancellor, Srinivas University. Dr. Annayya , Chief Medical Officer - Srinivas Group and Prof. S.Swaminathan  - Dean in charge of College of Hotel Management & Tourism were also present.
